Palgrave Communications is an open access online-only journal that publishes peer-reviewed original research across all areas of the humanities and the social sciences.

This thematic collection aims to contribute to the ongoing debate concerning international corporate governance of the sports industry. Contributions should explore current thinking on the governance of both institutional organizations and clubs. Explorations of related themes will also be welcomed, including: the identification, management and assessment of intangible assets such as players and brands; sport leadership; financial performance; co-opetition models.
We welcome both theoretical work and empirical research using quantitative or qualitative methods. All submissions should demonstrate a clear and significant relevance to the understanding of governance in the sports industry.
