The CSRI Conference on College Sport call for papers is currently open. Please use the following link to submit an abstract for consideration at the 2024 Conference (https://www.csri.org/call-for-papers). Related to the its mission To provide students, scholars, and college sport practitioners a public forum to discuss relevant and timely college sport issues, the conference will feature cutting-edge research in collegiate athletics, various panel discussions on pertinent issues affecting college athletes, and a keynote address by National Labor Relations Board General Council Jennifer Abruzzo. We invite you to please submit an abstract and/or register to attend the Conference to be held March 20-22 in Columbia, South Carolina. Abstract submissions will be accepted through Friday, January 26th and abstract decisions will be finalized by the first week of February.

Submission Guidelines

Abstracts should reflect, but are not limited to, research addressing social-cultural, legal, financial, economic, political, administrative, or historical college sport issues. The research should have reached a fairly complete stage of development, and the abstract should provide enough detail about the research, so reviewers have sufficient information to judge the research’s quality. Abstracts proposing teaching sessions on college sport issues will also be considered, as long as the abstract provides sufficient detail to judge the quality of the session.

Submission of abstract(s) indicates the intent of presenter(s) to register for and attend the conference at the appropriate registration fee.

Abstracts will undergo a multi-person, blind-review to determine acceptance.

Abstracts submitted to the 2024 Conference on College Sport should not be concurrently submitted for consideration to another conference.

Researchers may be listed as author/co-author on no more than two submitted abstracts.

Student Research

An abstract submitted by undergraduate or master’s student(s) must have the approval of a faculty advisor. There is no limit to the number of abstracts on which a faculty member may be an advisor.

NOTE: While a faculty advisor should “supervise” the conducted research, they should not be a principal/co-investigator and/or co-author. We ask faculty advisors to read and approve the abstract and have supervised any conducted research. CSRI is committed to supporting student research and encourages faculty to mentor students and help them submit their abstracts.
