The ASB was founded in 2011 to meet the needs and issues with the growing number of Sport Business Programs in accredited schools of business. The ASB philosophy is to create a collegial professional environment by sharing innovative and best practices in the areas of the assurance of learning models, curriculum, faculty teaching and intellectual development along with creating high-quality professional industry engagement opportunities. With that said, we are excited to extend an invitation to our much-anticipated 2025 ASB conference.  As we gear up for an enriching experience, we’re excited to share a sneak peek into our schedule of events:
      • Featured Speakers: Gain insights from sport industry visionaries and thought leaders from the Oklahoma City area-
      • Roundtables and Workshops: Engage in the opportunity to learn information on the needs and issues with the growing number of Sport Business programs in accredited schools of business.
      • Facility Tours: Hear from OKC Thunder and OKC Comets staff as we attend and tour Paycom Center and  Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark..
      • Student Learning Opportunities: Students will have the opportunity to compete in a case study competition, in addition to professional development opportunities with industry professionals on developing their professional profiles and networks.

Call for Papers

The Alliance for Sport Business (https://asbsports.org/) invites individuals to submit abstracts for next year’s ASB Conference to be held March 30-April 1 at the downtown Courtyard by Marriott, 2 W Reno Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73102. Submissions will begin to be accepted on November 14, 2024, with a deadline for submissions on January 10, 2025. Both completed research and research that is in progress are acceptable. Topics include industry research, teaching best practices, and sport business school best practices.

Abstract Format

Abstracts should include the following information below and conform to the requirements. Please note the material submitted with your abstract is what will be used to generate the online and print version of the Conference Abstracts, as well as the presentation schedule. Thus, submitting authors should verify the correctness of all information provided.

Submission Guidelines

      • Abstracts should not exceed 300 words, body text only (do not include reference list, figures, or tables)
      • All abstracts will be subjected to a blind review. No preference will be given to longer abstracts.
      • Presentations can be 20-minute oral, 60-minute symposium, panel, or workshop, or poster.
      • Authors are limited to two possible presentations regardless of co-authorship or type of presentation. An exception to this limit is for an advisor to a student who is submitting an abstract. In this case, the advisor position must be clearly indicated in the author section of the submission and the first author must be a registered undergraduate or graduate student at their institution at the time of the abstract submission deadline.
      • Abstracts submitted to ASB should not be concurrently submitted for consideration to another conference or have been previously presented at another conference.
      • Abstract(s) submission indicates the intent of the presenter(s) to register for and attend the 2024 ASB Conference. Presenters should be prepared to attend and present at any time during the conference.  The Conference schedule will be released for review in February 2024.

Submit abstract

Abstract submissions will begin to be accepted on November 15, 2024, with a deadline for submissions on January 10, 2025. Submissions can be made by submitting abstracts to Bryan Finch at bryan.finch@okstate.edu.
