Sport Scholar Profile | Magnus Ferry, Umeå University
Magnus Ferry is a Senior Lecturer and Associate professor at the Department of Education at Umeå university. He has a PhD in Sport Science with a dissertation focusing on the development of School Sports in Sweden, and the pupils and teachers involved. In his research he is interested in the socialisation processes through which individuals are formed, and the changes in social, cultural, and historical circumstances in which these processes are embedded.

The WISE conference welcomes the submission of abstracts for original contribution to your respective field. It will discuss the issues around women's participation in sport and exercise. The themes of the conference will include female-specific health and medical issues arising from participation in sport and exercise, and issues and opportunities for women's participation in sport and exercise.

Evald Bundgaard Iversen forsvarede 4. september sin ph.d-afhandling: Public Management of Private Non-Profit Sports Halls. Afhandlingen belyser konsekvenserne for udnyttelsesgraden i selvejende idrætshaller, når disse udsættes for forskellige typer af resultatstyring, hvor kommunen fokuserer på høj udnyttelsesgrad.
