The anthology Social Control and Disorder in Football: Responses, Regulation, Rupture (Routledge), edited by Mark Turner and Jan Andre Lee Ludvigsen, shows how the ‘beautiful game’ illuminates our understanding of the mechanisms and techniques of social control and regulation in contemporary societies.
