Ut på tur med app: Teknologi i hverdagens bevegelseskultur
Hensikten med studien av Odd Lennart Vikene, Reidun Nerhus Fretland, Sylvia Hole og Helga Synnevåg Løvoll er å utforske hvordan ny teknologi i form av appen Georeg har innvirkning på turgåingen. Analysen av intervjumaterialet identifiserte fire overordnede temaer: 1) fra trimbok til app, 2) hvordan appen regulerer og former, 3) appen skaper motstridende følelser og 4) når teknologien tar styring. Funnene illustrerer både positive og negative sider ved bruk av app og en tydelig ambivalens kommer til uttrykk.
Hiking with an app: Technology in everyday movement culture
The aim of this study by Odd Lennart Vikene, Reidun Nerhus Fretland, Sylvia Hole and Helga Synnevåg Løvoll is to explore how new technologies, here exemplified by the app Georeg, influence the hiking experience. The analysis identified four overarching themes: 1) from tour book to app, 2) how the app form and regulate, 3) the app creates contradictory feelings, and 4) when technology takes control. The findings illustrate both positive and negative perspectives of using the app, and a clear ambivalence from the informants appears in the material.
