Two books with historical analysis and cultural critiques further our understanding of sex and gender testing in sport
In this original contribution to idrottsforum.org, Sarah Teetzel reviews two recent books on sex/gender testing, Lindsay Parks Pieper’s monograph Sex Testing and Sandy Montañola & Aurélie Olivesi’s anthology Gender Testing in Sport. For both books our reviewers has points of criticism, but their merit in terms of extending our knowledge in this particular field is undeniable.
