Each year people spend billions of dollars to get in shape, improve their appearance and to maintain or restore a healthy lifestyle. For this special issue we are interested in the fine line dividing a healthy lifestyle and an unhealthy obsession with improving the human condition – the ‘dark side’ of performance enhancement, sport and lifestyle.

The International Network of Doping Research (INDR) invites abstract submissions for consideration for the 2017 conference. The conference theme will thematise how performance enhancement is more than just a matter for elite sport. Recent scholarship has indicated how deeply rooted questions about doping and performance enhancement are to society as well.
