In 2019 the ‘Fields of Vision’ sport and art network will be hosting ‘Knowing the Score’, a one day conference to bring together scholars, practitioners and the public to discuss the wide and varied links between music and sport. So we welcome proposals for papers, panel discussions or performances – and we would especially welcome new and innovative approaches to presentations.

Abstracts are welcome on any area of philosophy of sport (broadly construed), including metaphysics, epistemology, aesthetics, and ethics, and from any theoretical approach, including analytic philosophy and critical theory. While IAPS recognizes, values, and encourages interdisciplinary approaches and methodologies, acceptance is contingent on the philosophical content of the project.

We invite essays on sport literature (fiction, nonfiction, poetry, drama, or film) or on the rhetoric of sport. Cultural-studies approaches to sport texts are welcome. We also encourage sessions featuring presenters’ original fiction, creative nonfiction, and poetry. Original prose and poetry may be presented in a regular panel or during an evening readings session.

We encourage scholars from the fields of children’s literature, screen studies, games studies, media and communication, material culture and, of course, scholars studying play from both theoretical and empirical perspectives, to join us in considering the latent metacritical potentials of play and its diverse modes and forms in bridging disciplinary divides.

Through the theme of “The World Voice of Sport Management,” WASM will bring together students, scholars, practitioners, and professionals from around the world to share expertise and knowledge about the global venture of sport business. The idea behind the theme is a focus on advocating for inquiries into sport business theories, practices, issues, networking, collaborations, and cooperation in a globalized world.

The International Association for the Philosophy of Sport invites the submission of abstracts to be considered for presentation at the 47th annual IAPS meeting. Abstracts are welcome on any area of philosophy of sport (broadly construed), including metaphysics, epistemology, aesthetics, and ethics, and from any theoretical approach, including analytic philosophy and critical theory.

The organizers are interested in bringing together scholars who are interested in issues of gender equality in sport. We welcome submissions that address a variety of gender issues such as sexuality, body, identity, gender-based discrimination (including harassment and abuse), LGBTIQ+ experiences, as well as practices of exclusion and marginalization in sport, physical activity, and school physical education.

British Philosophy of Sport Association proudly announces the call for abstracts for its 2019 conference. Abstracts are invited in any area of the philosophy of sport and from any philosophical perspective. All decisions will be made solely on the basis of the quality of philosophical argument. The keynote speakers are Tom Hurka, Sophie-Grace Chappell, Julian Savulescu, Angela Schneider and Mike McNamee.

Next year’s conference coincides with the 10th anniversary of the entry into force of the Lisbon Treaty and, therefore, the first decade of a direct sport competence for the European Union. In our annual gathering we would like to critically analyse the extent to which EU sport policy has achieved its objectives during these first ten years.

The Second Global Congress on Sport and Christianity invites high quality work on sport and Christianity from scholars in fields such as sociology, cultural studies, anthropology, philosophy, theology, religious studies, kinesiology, psychology, history, ancient and modern languages, literature, economics, and business; or from practitioners in fields such as sport ministry, mission work, and social work.
