SISU Förlags ambitiösa trebandsutgåva Sport Management 1–3, under redaktion av Åsa Bäckström, Karin Book, Bo Carlsson och PG Fahlström, får genomgående positiva omdömen av idrottsforum.orgs recensenter, Søren Bennike som recenserade del 1 i oktober 2019, och Julius Z. Strömberg i föreliggande recension av delarna 2 och 3. Strömberg efterlyser visserligen ett nordiskt perspektiv men ser inte den bristen som ett hinder för att använda böckerna när han lär ut sport management på Norges idrettshøgskole.

Dave Day’s edited collection from 2011, Sporting Lives (MMU Institute for Performance Research) originates from a Sporting Lives symposium hosted by MMU Cheshire, and must be considered a modern sport history classic. John S. Hellström is our reviewer, and he finds the sum of the parts to be most rewarding, even though some individual contributions are highly readable. Shame, though, that only one of eleven chapters is written about a women.

John S. Hellström har läst Sarah K. Fields’ intressanta rättshistoriska skildring Game Faces: Sport celebrity and the laws of reputation (University of Illinois Press), och finner att det kanske mest intressanta i hela boken sannolikt upptäcktes av en slump av författaren, som därmed, eller i alla händelser, inte fördjupat analysen i den delen.

In June 2014, John S, Hellström publicly defended his dissertation, the title of which translated into English is The Swedish Sports Hero: Change and stability in the media story of the Swedish sports hero from the 1920’s to the present time.
