The Journal of Policy Research in Tourism, Leisure & Events provides a critical focus on a variety of policy debates relating to the tourism, leisure and events sectors. Such policy debates will encompass economic, social, cultural, political and environmental perspectives.

This special issue seeks to critically examine the relationship between events, urban spaces and mobility. Specifically, it seeks to explore how and why events enable and/or produce new spatial (re)configurations as a result of hosting and how these changes influence mobility, exploration, engagement and/or consumption across host environments - whether that be at an international, national, regional, city and/or community level.

The aim of the edited collection is to bring together academics who, from a global and multi-disciplinary approach, are researching events and placing them within the context of Turner's theories of Ritual, Flow, Liminality and Performance, to conceptually explore the relationship between events and Turner's work while not avoiding a prescription of application.

To mark the end of the 4-year EU funded Carnival project and the launch of a new edited book, also titled 'Legacies and Mega Events: Fact or Fairy Tales?',  the Centre for Business in Society at Coventry University proudly present an international inter-disciplinary conference for academics and practitioners.
