Special issue proposals need to focus on an area of research that falls within the broad scope of the journal and adds value in terms of addressing new or under-explored topics that reflect recent theoretical and empirical developments. SBM has a unique focus on business and management in sport that publishes papers from authors at mainstream business schools.

This professorship is intended to continue and expand research and teaching in the field of sport economics, while also defining own focus areas; an integration of the topics sports tourism, sports management and sports sociology is desirable. Participation in the research centers Alpine Sport, Tourism and Leisure, as well as in the planned research center Prevention and Health over the Lifespan is desired.
