This special issue aims to address the interplay of sustainability and digitalization in sport management. Submissions may focus primarily on sustainability or digitalization but should demonstrate a meaningful connection to the other transformation. For instance, studies addressing sustainability might examine how digital technologies can enhance environmental strategies or social inclusion. Similarly, research on digitalization could explore how such advancements align with or support sustainability goals.

This book will consider the digital transformation of the sports industry. This book will elaborate on the forthcoming digital and technological changes that will shape the sports industry for years to come. Topics will include digital innovations, artificial intelligence, machine learning, optimization, data privacy and security, organizational behavior, and globalization. This book provides a platform to collate the most important contemporary issues for a global audience of scholars and practitioners.

Drawing on inspiration from the fast-moving environment of technology & data, the webinar’s expert will talk through practical activities that listeners can start implementing. The webinar will also look at the medium-term view of data implications for grassroots sports organizations, especially as the policy & legal landscape continue to change.

The presence of significant global challenges defines our current era. Climate change, globalization, social segregation and the Covid-19 pandemic have exposed many of the faultlines in European and worldwide society. The 16th ENSE Forum in Guimaraes will focus on the role of sport, and in particular programmes and policies for the education of sport professionals, to address current societal challenges and seek to deliver answers concerning core questions.
