Our reviewer of this collection of contributions from leading sociology of sport scholars, is Alan Bairner. Although uneven, he commends the collection for its quality contributors and the editor for the clever approach of having them all describe their personal journeys into the realm of social scientific study of sport.

Soccer a.k.a (association) football, the most popular mass spectator sport in the world, has become a major social phenomenon since the late nineteenth century. Through the social prism of soccer, scholars across the world have tended to understand various aspects of life. Soccer & Society is the first international journal devoted to the game of soccer, aims to focus on the game in the context of a more global world.

A 2018 issue of Sport in Society ending up as a 2019 anthology from Routledge is not exactly startling, and in this case, as in many others, it seems like a good way to keep Important issues alive in the academic debate. Ethical Concerns in Sport Governance, edited by Souvik Naha & David Hassan gets a rather favorable review from Pam Sailors, who, nonetheless, is quite pessimistic regarding the potential for improvement.

En bra bok som understryker en i och för sig känd sanning – idrott för funktionshindrade är bra och viktigt.
