    sport-for-development-and-pieceDear Sir, Dear Madam,

We would like to draw your attention to the report Sport for development and peace – the role of the International Olympic Committee (Sport Policy & Management report No. 16).

Sport Policy & Management reports is a publication series of the Policy in Sports & Physical Activity Research Group, Faculty of Kinesiology and Rehabilitation Sciences, University of Leuven (KU Leuven).

The SPM16 report (Arts, Lesage, Bruyninckx & Scheerder, 2013) aims to explain the role of sports as a tool for development and peace, which is embraced by the Sport for Development and Peace movement. NGOs like the International Olympic Committee (IOC) have emerged as promoters of sport as a means of achieving the MDGs. The increasing relevance of the IOC in the SDP context has been analysed.

The report can be downloaded free of charge at http://faber.kuleuven.be/spm/ (registration is obligatory).

    Kind regards,

Prof. dr. Jeroen Scheerder & dr. Steven Vos (series editors)
