This book will provide a socio-cultural lens on the expanding market for pre-school sport and physical activity. This text comes at a significant time in the context of a growing marketplace for commercialised and franchised sport and PA in the UK and elsewhere for the under-fives. To date much of this research has focused on the development of children or on physiological measures of childhood activity. This ignores the social and cultural context in which children take part in Sport and PA.

While the interest for physical activity (PA) and pre-schoolers is growing, there seems to be less research focusing on organized sport activities for toddlers. Therefore, the editors encourage the submission of papers on the theme of the participation of toddlers and pre-schoolers in organized sport, for-profit programs and physical activity from a range of temporal, geographic, methodological and thematic perspectives.

Under the Theme “All around development of young children through sport”, the Forum is aimed to promote the development of sport for young children, to promote quality research on sport for children, and build a bridge for cultural and academic exchanges between China and other nations.
