    The sport science research environment includes some 15 researchers as well as an almost equal number of research students. The research is primarily within the humanities and the social sciences, and in regard to research conducted at the department, sport is considered to be a multi-dimensional, societal and cultural phenomenon and includes physical activity, physical education (PE), exercise and sport performance. This also include research on elite sport.

    Doctoral studentships in sport sciences, specializing in the humanities and social sciences, at Malmö University, within the Learning in Multicultural Contexts graduate school. Application deadline January 17, 2020

    The focus of the sport sciences Ph.D. program lies on the forms of sport and on their past, present and future importance for society. The program comprises a range of areas from competitive, recreational and experience sports to sport as a school subject as well as outdoor activities and physical recreation.

    Forskarskolan Lärande i mångkulturella samhällskontexter samlar doktorander som intresserar sig för globalisering, mångkulturalitet och utbildning. Inom ramen för fem olika forskarutbildningsämnen undersöks hur utbildning organiseras och lärande sker i ett samhälle präglat av migration, digitalisering och politisk rörelse.

    The workshop will highlight issues and subjects related to integration, migration and multiculturalism. In this matter, sport is expected to play a significant part in relation to migration, culture and integration. Consequently, the proposed theme of the workshop is related to the present European situation, with a considerable amount of immigrants and refuges.
