The Journal of Sport Management encourages the submission of manuscripts in a number of areas as they relate to the management, governance, and consumption of sport. Studies using quantitative and/or qualitative approaches are welcomed. JSM publishes research and scholarly review articles; short reports on replications, test development, and data reanalysis; and more.
Venice, Barcelona, Amsterdam – popular places badly hit by the tourism plague. This problem, in the sporting context, is addressed in a new compilation by Brent Moyle, Tom Hinch & James Higham, Sport Tourism and Sustainable Destinations (Routledge), where focus is on destination management and sustainability. Aage Radmann is our reviewer, and he recognizes the book as an important contribution to the field.
Milena Parent and Jean-Loup Chappelet have collected 21 contributions for the Routledge Handbook of Sports Event Management, by altogether 36 scholars in the field. Our reviewer is Christian Tolstrup Jensen, and while he offers som suggestions that he feels would improve the quality of the handbook, he is nevertheless quite happy with the collection as it is.
