The special issue seeks to explore the complex and dynamic intersections of gender with organizations of sports, a field that remains a powerful site for the negotiation of identities, power relations, and social norms. This issue invites submissions that critically engage with the ways in which gender shapes experiences, opportunities, and representations in professional sports organizations, as well as the (gendered) organizational and institutional structures that govern sports practices.
