How do World Cups shape a certain sense of national identity; how it is used for political purposes (as a state machine as well as resistance); what kind of artistic production surrounds them and what are their intended and non-intended meanings (from songs to advertisements to posters and poems, etc.); how are class, race, and gender relevant (or not) in all these processes.

År 2019 införde polisen tuffare tag mot fotbollsklubbarnas arbete genom arbetsverktyget villkorstrappan. Om ett fåtal misskötte sig vid något tillfälle kunde straff i form av minskad publik på nästa match följa. De nya restriktionerna ledde till ökad spänning mellan polis och supportrar, vilket Sara Karlén, doktorand på Malmö universitet har studerat tillsammans med Aage Radmann. Resultaten presenteras i en kommande artikel tidskriften Soccer & Society.
Review of the Economic and Legal Aspects of the Organisation of Football in Europe
In recent years, the European Sport Model has become a prominent theme in EU political, legal and policy discussions. As European football continues to be at the centre of these debates, this conference examined the organisation of football in Europe from legal and economic perspectives. The aim of this conference was to provide analysis and commentary to ongoing developments, including the European Super League case currently pending at the Court of Justice of the European Union.

Call for Papers | International Football History Conference | Hampden Park, Glasgow, June 30 – July 1, 2023. Call ends April 3, 2023
The 2023 annual International Football History Conference will take place at Hampden Park, Glasgow, G42 9BA and will be held over two days (30 June and 1 July 2023). This is a call for papers to be presented at the conference. There will be an opportunity to present on any topic relating to the history of football of all codes. Abstracts for the following presentation styles are welcomed: Short Form (7 minutes); Twenty Minutes; Panels.
