Excellent study of development of football in Europe during the Second World War
In the anthology European Football During the Second World War: Training and Entertainment, Ideology and Propaganda by Markwart Herzog and Fabian Brändle, an international team of authors examines the development of football during the Second World War in a dozen European states. Our reviewer is Alon K. Raab, who finds the book comprehensive and important.
