    Call for Papers | Sport&EU 19th Annual Conference | University of Naples Federico II, June 30–July 1, 2025. Call ends January 1, 2025

    The Sport&EU 19th annual conference will be organised by the University of Naples Federico II in Naples, Italy, on 30th June and 1st July 2025. The organizing committee is now open to receiving proposals for individual papers. As each year, the Sport&EU conference strives to have a distinctly multi-disciplinary character. ​Following our traditional policies of equality and diversity, Sport&EU encourages PhD students and young career academics to submit their proposals for this conference. Equally, we specially encourage female and non-binary academics to submit their proposals.

    The NISPAcee Journal of Public Administration and Policy and Special Issue editor Marko Begović welcome individual submissions up to 8000 words (inclusive of references and notes) that discuss, examine, or review the governance and policymaking in the Western Balkans toward European Union integration.

    The Sport&EU 18th annual conference will take place at ESSCA School of Management in Angers, France, on 25 and 26 June 2024. The organizing committee is now open to receiving proposals for individual papers and pre-composed panels. The deadline to submit your proposals is 31 January 2024, decisions on accepted papers and panels will be made no later than 28 February 2024.

    Review of the Economic and Legal Aspects of the Organisation of Football in Europe

    In recent years, the European Sport Model has become a prominent theme in EU political, legal and policy discussions. As European football continues to be at the centre of these debates, this conference examined the organisation of football in Europe from legal and economic perspectives. The aim of this conference was to provide analysis and commentary to ongoing developments, including the European Super League case currently pending at the Court of Justice of the European Union.

Papers with an interdisciplinary background are particularly encouraged.

    The organisers aim to make this the most accessible event in our history. To add to the occasion, the conference will be held during the FIFA World Cup. Delegates, should they so wish, will also have free access to the annual EU Sports Law and Policy Summer School which will be held on July 5th, 2018, the day after the conference.

    For the first time ever, the Association for the Study of Sport and the European Union (Sport&EU) moves to Scandinavia for its 12th Annual Conference, which will be hosted on 29 and 30 June 2017 by the Faculty of Business Administration and Social Sciences in Molde University College, Norway.
