    Open Call for Papers | Sports Innovation Journal

    Sports Innovation Journal is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal published by the Sports Innovation Institute at IU Indianapolis. Our mission is to advance scholarship and practical knowledge that fosters innovation across all facets of sport—professional, collegiate, youth, and recreational. We are especially committed to encouraging collaboration between academic researchers and sport industry professionals, as well as promoting the application of evidence-based practices to real-world sport problems.

    Call for Papers | Sports Technology and Innovation symposium | Smithsonian Institution, Washington, DC, October 21-22, 2024. Call ends May 1, 2024

    To further explore these ideas, we invite proposals for a forthcoming symposium titled “Sports Technology and Innovation.” The symposium will examine the different motivations that inspire inventors to develop game-changing technologies, their creative processes, and the often-surprising sources of their ideas. It will investigate the high-tech apparel, protective gear, adaptive prostheses, medical advances, officiating technologies, AI algorithms, and training equipment that infuse all modern sports.

    Stillingen er knyttet til doktorgradsprogrammet i sosiologi og til faggruppen Ledelse og innovasjon, som har et aktivt forskningsmiljø innen idrettssosiologi gjennom forskningsgruppen Idrett og samfunn. Stipendiatstillingen kan ses i relasjon til det pågående forskningsarbeidet ved forskningsgruppen. Søkere inviteres til å skrive prosjektskisser som tematiserer bærekraftig utvikling i organisert idrett eller idrettsorganisasjoners rolle i bærekraftig samfunnsutvikling.
