    Interdisciplinary and Impactful Sport Research introduces “Knowledge Translation Field School”, four online workshops during November 2022

    Although knowledge translation, especially creative approaches to it, are an important skill set for researchers, this is not commonly taught as part of graduate curriculums. The Knowledge Translation Field School will provide participants with the opportunity to engage in an online knowledge translation training and mentorship initiative. The series of four, 2-hour workshop-style webinars are designed to enhance theoretical knowledge of and practical skills related to knowledge mobilization and translation.

    Two months after the Olympic Games 2021, we would like to hold an online workshop on 7–8 October about the impact of the Games and the gap between original aspirations and concrete results. Therefore, we will have sessions on the following topics: the political economy of Olympics, political communication, historic perspectives, diversity, social movements and voluntarism, technology and innovation, mass media and public discourse. Our panel discussion at the end of the Workshop tackles the question: “What remains?”

During the workshop you will learn about the essential tools and actions so you organize, manage and lead a successful project. We designed the workshop in a dynamic way so it can be beneficial for all participants despite their experience in such a field. Students, young scholars independent researchers and history, culture and tradition enthusiasts are welcome in our friendly and welcoming GIRES environment.

    Call for Participation | Online Workshop: ‘Rethinking Internationalism through Sport’ | 30 April 2021, 10am–4pm (UK time)

    This one-day workshop will discuss how international sport can deepen our understanding of internationalism. With broad focus on theories of international relations, nationhood, and political projects of identity, the workshop will bring sport into historical conversations about the central ideologies and processes of internationalism. Specifically, it will rethink the scope of internationalism as a political and cultural concept.
