The objective of this Special Issue is to stimulate and promote more research investigations in an effort to advance the understanding about the Winter Olympic Games’ bidding, staging, operating, and marketing practices. We encourage the use of diverse theories and methodologies in empirical investigations. Additionally, in an effort to better understand the unique perspectives of the Winter Olympic Games, this Special Issue particularly welcomes studies that reveal differences between the Winter and Summer Olympic Games.

The objective of this IJSMS special issue is to bring together scholarship that seeks to advance our collective knowledge on diversity and inclusion in sport marketing. We acknowledge that diversity may include a myriad of characteristics that distinguish individuals and groups of people. However, this special edition focuses on diversity as it pertains to the following equity seeking groups: Race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, physical ability.

The general aim of this special issue is to discover the role of innovation, and how to use it within the sport management discipline in general and specially, within the sport marketing field. The guest editors are looking for high-quality papers using an original perspective to introduce innovation into sport management field in general and sport marketing in particular. Mainly empirical but also theoretical papers are welcome to this special issue.
