    A New Hot Take on the Coolest Game on Earth

    Courtney Szto’s first book builds on her dissertation from 2018 and is entitled Changing on the Fly: Hockey through the voices of South Asian Canadians (Rutgers University Press). For this book she was awarded the North American Society for the Sociology of Sport Outstanding Book Award 2021. Leading Swedish ice hockey historian Tobias Stark has read Szto’s book on our behalf, and he is impressed by her critical analysis of Canadian ice hockey and the lack of intersectional justice in the game and its organizations.
