The Anita White Foundation at the University of Chichester is pleased to invite submissions for the Celia Brackenridge International Research Award. The aim of the Award is to recognise and promote excellence in scholarship on child welfare in sport and/or women and sport. The award is part of the continued legacy of Professor Brackenridge’s research and activism on these two themes. The Anita White Foundation offers this award within our broader aims of contributing to the preservation of the heritage of women in sport and to facilitate research.
The Award
We are offering an award of five hundred pounds (£500) for an entry that demonstrates excellence in published sociological scholarship on child welfare in sport and/or on women and sport.
Entries
Entries should be based on child welfare in sport and/or women and sport research that has been published, in English, between 1 March 2017 and 1 March 2018. The entries should demonstrate:
- Quality of scholarship
- Originality and advance knowledge in the field
- Critical thinking
- Potential to impact on practice

Entry Eligibility
Application is open to early career researchers. These are researchers who are currently undertaking doctoral studies or were awarded doctoral degrees after January 2015.
Entry Format
To submit an entry, please download and fill in the entry form and attach a file or a link to the file you are submitting. We welcome submissions in a variety of formats, including journal articles, book chapters, theses, and project reports.
