    An investigation of the role and position of female supporters in Polish football fandom culture

    In Female Fans, Gender Relations and Football Fandom: Challenging the Brotherhood Culture (Routledge), Honorata Jakubowska, Dominik Antonowicz and Radosław Kossakowski assesses the transformation of Polish football fan culture from a gender perspective. In their review, Payam Ansari and Gary Sinclair point out that female fandom in men’s football is not that different from male fandom; however, it takes a bit of effort, and male mentorship, for female fans to be accepted into the stands.
